Summer has been a bit of a wash out in Edinburgh this year. We have had a few warm days but most have just been mild and wet. There’s still a chance that it could get warm but my thoughts are turning to the winter as all the new season clothes start to arrive in the shops. It can get pretty cold in Scotland in the winter so I’ve been looking to buy A things that will really keep her warm.
A few weeks ago I came across a Swedish brand called Polarn O. Pyret and instantly fell in love with their brand values. They believe that clothes should be for kids and not mini adults, that they should mostly be gender neutral, they should be easy to care for and environmentally friendly and be of good quality so that they will last and can be passed to siblings easily. They also make clothes that will truly keep your little ones warm in cold weather. I’ve got my eye on these pink merino wool all in ones and body suits and the white windfleece. The merino wool thermals retain body heat and also wicks away any moisture so that A will stay lovely and warm no matter how cold it gets and the windfleece is soft flexible, warm and breathable with sleeves and leg cuffs that fold over to keep her cozy. The merino body and all in one cost a lot more than I would normally spend but if they keep A warm through the Scottish winter they will be worth it. I’d hate to think of her sitting in her buggy shivering away for what can be 6 months of the year here.
