I’ve been working on getting Aoife’s room ready for her since before she was born and its finally finished. I started with the idea that I wanted to create a space that would be fun and would provide lots of areas for imaginative play. The plan was to design the room that it would grow with her and wouldn’t require to much redecoration as she gets older.
Here’s a little look at Aoife’s room that we are slowly putting together. She won’t be sleeping in here for a few month yet so we have plenty of time to finish it but it is starting to come together. I’ve know since before she was born what I wanted it to look like so it is going to be very gender neutral as I had no idea whether we were having a girl or a boy.
When choosing somewhere for the baby to sleep there are so many factors to take into consideration. Do we need a cot or a cot bed, what material should it be made out of, will it fit into our room, do we like how it looks and can we afford it? There are hundreds of options out there for every taste and budget its just finding the one that’s right for you.
Looking around for inspiration on how to decorate the baby room I came across these images on Pinterest of simple triangles which look like mountain ranges. Not knowing the sex of the baby I’ve been looking for something that isn’t gender specific, is modern and will continue to be fun in a few years time.
