3 Months Old

3 Months Old3 months old today. Thats a whole quarter of a year, how did that happen? Last week A finally got to big for her newborn clothes and it was quite sad putting some of my favourite really tiny things away. She is still so toaty though, it will probably be at least another month before she grows out of her 0-3 month clothes but it could be even longer. At least she has had lot of wear out of them.  Continue Reading

Food For Thought

MilkBefore you have a baby its difficult to understand how hard breastfeeding can be. No one can prepare you for what can be a very painful and frustrating experience. Since breastfeeding is a natural process I didn’t believe that I would have any problems but I was very wrong about that. Continue Reading

2 Months Old

2 Months OldCan’t believe my little girl is 2 months old today and wow look how she’s grown! She is now spending a lot more time awake and is smiling and laughing more and more. Everyday we are learning something new about each other and I’m starting to feel like we are both beginning to get used to this new life we are both leading. Continue Reading

First Weeks Essentials

My Baby EssentialsBefore you become a parent for the first time its difficult to know what you will need and will struggle to live without and what you will use once and never look at again. The selection of things that are available in your typical baby shop can be really bewildering and the advice that you receive from friends and family can be overwhelming. Continue Reading

6 Weeks Old

6 weeks oldAoife is six weeks old today and she has grown so much. I made this stuffed toy at the length she measured when she was born so that I can take her picture next to it every month and have a visual representation of her growing over the coming year or two. Continue Reading

Time, Where Does It Go?

TimeBefore Aoife was born I had this idea that maternity leave was going to be one long holiday. I thought I’d have lots of time to finish all the craft projects that I’d never got round to and plenty of time to start all the new ones that I had in my head. I imagined I’d spend my days exploring all the things that Edinburgh had to offer that I had never had the time to do in the past and making sure that I enjoyed any good weather that came along.  Continue Reading

Minimal Changing Bag

PacapodLiving in a top floor flat with a newborn has been a lot more challenging than I expected. I’m glad that I spent a lot of time researching ways to keep everything organised for any trips out of the house that we have to make as getting up and down the stairs with everything that you need and a baby can be quite stressful. One of the purchases I made before Aoife was born was this very compact changing bag from Pacapod. Continue Reading

Toaty Fashion

ClothesKeeping it minimal with Aoife’s clothes is proving to be more difficult than I anticipated. People have been incredibly generous and she has ended up with so many little outfits for the first few months of her life. At the moment she is far to small to wear any of them and I’m hoping that when she does grow a bit that we will get more than a couple of months out of some of them. Continue Reading

Introducing The Toaty One

I’d like to introduce you all to Aoife Winter Gray who arrived in this world a day early on the 28th April. She weighed a toaty five pounds and twelve ounces and has turned our lives upside down. All The Colours Of The Rainbow

Rainbow Muslin SquaresHow lovely are these rainbow coloured muslins by Faye and Lou. They have great reviews online and are much more exciting than the plain white ones you get everywhere. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at my work for getting me these along with a high chair which I’m looking forward to using in the near future. It’s such a generous and thoughtful gift and is really appreciated. Continue Reading
