Lots of baby gyms that you can buy in the shops are large, garish and very expensive for what they are. For this reason I decided to make my own using some simple supplies from the DIY store and then attaching toys that A already had.For around £5 I purchased a couple of pieces of thin sawn wood and 1 piece of dowel. By sawing the 2 pieces in half to make 4 and then drilling a dole in each bit to put the dowel through a basic A frame structure was built. Because we have a long pile rug there has been no need to do anything else to secure the structure and A has already been pulling at the toys with no sign of it collapsing. If we had to put the baby gym somewhere else we would need to find a way to make it more stable but it works just perfect the way it is at the moment. The great thing about it is that we can change the toys around so that A gets a bit of variety and its very easy to put together and take apart so there is no need to leave it up all the time. I’m really pleased with the simplicity of it and A looks like she is really enjoying it which makes me very happy.
